the town home of my grandparents celso and gliceria muertegui was primarily for business purposes in the trading-town of calubian. the ground floor was the general store and the bodega for the farm produce mostly coming from the family farm in wague. copra, abaca, rice and corn pass though those wooden doors awaiting shipment to cebu. the weekly motor ships dock in the pier just behind the house. upstairs were the living quarters with five bedrooms and two baths. a kitchen with its own 'balcon' is at the back overlooking the bay.
